BIOGRAPHY

Nicaya Wiley (she/her) was born & raised in St. Louis, Missouri. At the age of 2 her mom noticed she was always dancing beat to a Jay-Z song in her car seat and left her YMCA swim lesson to find a ballet class. Her mom knew then she had to put her in dance. She spent her early years dancing competitively which led to her appearing on Lifetime’s reality TV show, Dance Moms at the age of 11. She stopped dancing competitively when she was accepted into a pre-professional dance program at Center of Creative Arts (COCA) under the direction Antonio and Kirven Douthit-Boyd. Nicaya is a versatile dancer who is trained in ballet, tap, jazz, modern, and hip hop. Nicaya has done summer intensives with Dance Theatre of Harlem, Alvin Ailey, and Breaking Barriers by Anthony Burrell. Nicaya graduated from Kirkwood High School in 2014 where she excelled academically. She was awarded a merit scholarship to Boston Conservatory. Nicaya has studied under renowned teachers and choreographers such as Ronald K. Brown, Matthew Rushing, Judith Jamison, Anthony “Redd’ Williams, Alicia Graf-Mack, Kameron Saunders and Anthony Burrell who she credits as being her dance mentor. Nicaya spent the first semester of her senior year as a company member in Philadanco before returning to the conservatory in January to resume her studies. Nicaya graduated with honors with a BFA in Contemporary Dance in May 2023 and took a jump start to her professional career with an appearance on the 2023 BET Hip Hop Awards in Atlanta, Georgia. She then, received a a 8 month contract with Norwegian Cruise Lines. Traveling through Europe and the United states, she was featured in shows ranging from contemporary dance to ballroom. After returning home, she was asked to join the Queens of R&B tour starring SWV and Escape. Since her first tour she has been training and waiting her move to Los Angeles California. She is excited to see where her journey will take her.
